DIARIES OF A DEAD WOMAN REVIEWS

The Other Side, September 16, 2007

DIARIES OF A DEAD WOMAN by Alicia Rice tells the story of Arista, a young and successful woman whose life was going in a positive direction until she got back with her high school sweetheart, Scott. Their reunion takes their lives down a path that neither one was expecting. A path laced with lies, betrayal and deceit. Arista discovers that her life is not what it seems, but by that time, it's a little too late. Will her choices and actions cost her more than she's willing to pay? Can love live after death? Does the diary hold the key?

I found this novel to be okay. There were numerous errors and for Arista to be such a smart and successful woman, she was really dumb. Alicia tackles several topics in this rather short novel, maybe too many. I would recommend DIARIES OF A DEAD WOMAN to anyone that is into the afterlife.

CAN I JUST SAY THAT DIARIES OF A DEAD WOMAN WAS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMANAL!!! TOTALLY LOVED IT. I CANT PLACE IT OR PUT MY FINGER ON IT BUT THAT BOOK BROUGHT A CHANGE IN MY LIFE AND I THANK YOU FOR THAT! CONTINUE WHAT U DO BEST!

Can fate's hand be tempted? In Diary of a Dead Woman, Alicia Rice aims to answer if life's journey is already predestined through the accounts of Arista's diary. We are introduced to Arista as she reaches a pinnacle of success by surprisingly being promoted to Vice-President of her company. In her new position, her first task is to hire her replacement. When the President reveals to her the two candidates up for her position, she could have never imagined that one of them would be her high school sweetheart, Scott. Scott not only wants the position at her company but he wants to reclaim the relationship with Arista he let go of so long ago. Arista throws caution to the wind and immediately enters back into a relationship with Scott. Neither one of them realizes that this seemingly minor decision will affect both of their lives in monumental proportions.

Since this novel is relatively small, I was not prepared for how many themes that were covered - homosexuality, mortality, betrayal, spirituality, supernatural, and punishment--just to name a few. The juxtaposition of themes help to make for a strong plot yet Rice's decision to use mostly dialogue made the characters appear one-dimensional. Providing some back story and more details about the characters and their surroundings would have definitely enhanced the story. The organization of the story was also very confusing and after a while I just ignored the way in which the chapters were divided. I would recommend this novel to readers that like reading about the supernatural and about the role that fate plays in life.

Nina DuPont : Diaries of a Dead Woman review

I gave this book a 4 out of 5 Rating.

If you are looking for a book with many emotional twists and turns this is the book for you. Arista, is a young successful professional with goals and objectives going just as she wants them to go, When Scott walks back into her life. Arista's never planned on the changes in her life that this relationship brings as well as a few other things that she had not plan on.

Is it True Love or heart Break? Will her plans be destroyed or will she continue down the path of success.

You will have to read it to find out.

Afrika Midnight Asha Abney: Editorial Review

Diaries of A Dead Woman is an excellent fictional story written by Alicia Rice and is a story that anyone can relate to. The story depicts a wide variety of topics love, life, pain, tragedy, relationships, and health. The characters that were highlighted were well depicted and each of them different in its persona. My personal favorites were Arista and Scott. Not everyone good woman will stand by her man through their past experiences and hang in through the end. My other favorite characters were Christy and Tina; they both were very supportive to both Arista and Scott. Not a lot of people understand the meaning of family and friendship; I think they understood it very well. Well, other characters were totally jealous and ignorant.

Diaries of A Dead Woman is a story that mainstream society or individuals whom experience what Arista and Scott went should have as part of their personal self-help collection.

Despite its numerous grammatical and punctuation errors, I recommend Diaries of A Dead Woman to all who believe in life changing supernatural occurrences. For me, it started off slow, but ended with a bang when Scott Mendley's spirit felt compelled to appear to his wife, Arista, with a warning to repent before she died. Needless to say, she died shortly thereafter and was reunited with her husband.

I must admit, I was initially clueless in regards to the theme of this novel. Now, I understand that throughout the book, I was being shown how selfish decisions can negatively alter one's life path. This book will minister to those individuals who are seeking clear answers as to why they are suffering. Your life was designed for a positive purpose; therefore, wrong doings will not be tolerated is the overall message contained within this book.

Had I understood, the book's purpose in the beginning, I would have appreciated its contents even more.

3 out of 5 roses

Diaries of A Dead Woman is a tale about a woman's final days and the events that led up to her death. Arista is a successful business woman who ignores her instincts and leads with her heart.

Diaries Of A Dead Woman is filled with life lessons better learned by someone else's mistakes. Alicia Rice has a sense of drama that is showcased in Diaries Of A Dead Woman. The plot is interesting and the heroine easy to relate to.

FATAL MARRIAGE REVIEWS

A Urbanbooklover.com review

Courtni Taylor was in a string of bad relationships but being
with Anthony Merrick was the worst yet, until her girlfriend hooked
her up with William Masterton.Willam had all the qualities any woman
could want in a man; he is successful, rich, and fine as hell! Find
out why these relationships turn fatal.

In this tale "FATAL MARRIAGE" author Alicia Rice does an
impressive job of capturing love, revenge, and sacifice. This novel
keeps you interested from beginning to end. FATAL MARRIGE is a
wonderful start to Rice's writing career.

LeAndrea Mack: Review on Fatal Marriage

First of all the book cover is very interesting. I would definitely take a second look at it from the shelf.

I like how the book took little twist and turns so it was not predictable. It keeps me interested to see what would happen next. I was always expecting Wil to die but at the end of the book I was still upset. Unfortunately I love happy endings so I was really upset that Wil had to die. The book was wonderful and it was true to life. Most great love stories have tragic endings. Keep em coming Alicia!

Fatal marriage was an excellent book. I liked it because of the insights it gave on the bible marriage and just trusting one another. I was sad to see it end. I look forward to the next book.

I thought the books were really good. I read one on Tuesday and the other one on Wednesday.

Congratulation Ms. Alicia,

I brought your book at Foggy Bottom Subway station about 2-1/2 weeks ago, although the skeptic about new authors; I must say I enjoyed Fatal Marriage. Fatal Marriage was an easy read, engaging, and eye opening. My hats goes of to Courtni Taylor for having to courage to know that she deserves a better life for herself, without all the drama. When Mr. William Masterton comes into the story, he's a compassionate man who know how to treat a woman, who's spiritually in touch with himself an others who have the pleasure of his company. Anthony needed to get a life, just because he muffed up, now know one can have Courtni. I say Anthony got what he deserved, but Courtni & William didn't. This is a must read.

Happy Reading,
